The Badger Photo Club is a place for like minded individuals at the University of Wisconsin - Madison to connect and learn from each to better their skills in photography. The photos exchanged and discussions had on this website, the Facebook page, the Flickr page, and all other pages associated with the Badger Photo Club must follow the guidelines listed below.
If you see something on one of our websites that violates these guidelines, please contact us immediately and explain where the content is found.
- The photos and discussions that take place within the club must not contain violence or threats of any kind. Any photos that the executive board deems harmful to others will be removed from all forms of social media, and possibly reported to the University of Wisconsin - Madison and/or law enforcement.
- Threats of self-harm, including promotion or encouragement of self-mutilation, eating disorders, alcohol abuse, or drug abuse will be removed from all forms of social media and reported if necessary.
- The Badger Photo Club has never and will never tolerate bullying or harassment. We firmly believe that in order to improve our photography skills, we need to constructively criticize others work, but when this line is crossed and conversations turn into abusive behavior directed at specific individuals or groups, the content will be removed and reported if necessary.
- Hate speech including but not limited to attacks based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or medical conditions will not be tolerated.
- Once of the great uses for photography is the documentation of important issues currently taking place. At times, graphic content may be seen in photos to document scenarios of public interest or concern, such as human rights abuses or acts of terrorism. However, if these images are shared for the intent to promote or glorify violence, they will be immediately removed and reported if necessary.
- Any and all explicitly sexual content including but not limited to nudity will be removed and reported.
- Members are only allowed to post their own photos to all forms of social media. If a member sees a photo taken by someone else that he or she would like to share, a link to the photo can be posted instead of the image itself. By posting on any of the Badger Photo Club social media platforms, you are giving permission to the Badger Photo Club to transfer your image to any other Badger Photo Club social media sites, with your name attached. The Badger Photo Club will never use your image without your name attached, unless we ask for permission and are given consent to. The Badger Photo Club will never sell your photography for profit unless we ask for permission and are given consent to. As a member, you reserve the right to contact us at any time to take down an image of yours from all forms of social media. We also ask that you ask for consent from the people in your photos before posting the images to our sites.
- The Badger Photo Club website and social media platforms are not a place for phishing or spam. Any photos or discussions posted that are unrelated to photography or related forms of art and documentation will be removed.
